How You Like These Cakes

My cousin and I went out for an early dinner yesterday after work and we dined at 220. Its located in Downtown Birmingham (MI). We sat outside and people watched and had great conversation. I was so caught-up in convo and laughter that I forgot to take more pics. So sad because it was a beautiful sunny day! The restaurant is one of my fav's and I go often, so I promise to update with more pictures in a future post. In the meantime, please enjoy the view of my appetizer crab cakes. They were delicious!

Crave this...

Crepe Ragoon-with fresh king crab, white shrimp and sea scallops/honey ginger asian sauce

Dining/Lounge Area

The Bar

The Sushi Bar

Sorry for the absence, but I'm back. Yesterday (12/12) was my birthday and my lovely hubby took me out to dinner. I of course, wanted to share my evening with you guys.
We went to a restaurant+sushi bar+lounge called CRAVE. Its located in Dearborn at the corner of Mason St. (22075 Michigan Ave, 48124).
What I liked about this place was the decor and the cozy feel, its definitely a romantic place, the dim lighting attributed to that. The drinks were very good, we could actually taste the liquor. I order a specialty drink mostly, when I go out and that let's me know if they have a "real" bartender. He passed the test!
Now, let me rate the entire experience for you. Giving them a 5 Score, let do our subtractions.

-1. The wait staff bordered on attentive to obsessive.
(There were just a few people there so maybe that's why we were asked every 10 mins., if everything was ok).

-1. They had a sign-outside that stated "Half-Off Drinks. NOT SO

(We thought it was a "Holiday" thing, it was false advertisement. However, that's not the reason we went, but you couldn't help but see the sign. We were told it was mistakenly left out there).

-1. It was my birthday and my hubby let them know and asked if they do anything for "Birthday" people. The answer was NO.
(No cake, no candle(s), No drink, no fan-its asian inspired, NOTHING).

So, in the end I give them a 2 (that's 5 minus 3). They left us CRAVELESS!!

Would I recommend this place? Not really. The ambiance and good drinks just aren't enough to hold any one's attention. We "had" decided to have dinner there, but once we took everything into account, we decided to travel on over to The Roast. Sorry, I ran out of camera space, but were going back very soon. OMG, that place was awesome & the food was Delicious!!
Until next time...thank you all for reading my blog.
Happy Holidays!!

Once again Go Eat....

The bar area

The chefs/cooks

Alex Salad w/Grilled Chicken

Grilled Chicken Salad

Cheeseburger w/Fries

I know this is a "double" post, but I thought I'd give everyone a second look at my fave restaurant, J. Alexander's! Once again, I'd like to re-iterate that its a perfect place to meet, greet and eat. The service and food is delicious!
Please don't think that I ate all of this food myself. My co-workers and I headed-out for a wonderful lunch and conversation. We were delightfully full and pleased with our sit-down luncheon. Give J. Alexander's a try and let me know what you think.

A La Food....

My good girlfriend and I went to J Alexanders to eat and I was supposed to take pictures of both of our plates, however, greedy me forgot and had already begun to eat. I took a picture of my plate/food anyway but it was not pretty, half eaten. So, here is a perfect plate of Steak Maui and smashed potatoes.
J Alexanders is a great place to eat, socialize, and drink. I've always experienced great customer service and a delightful meal. Don't know what to order? If you like pasta, try the Rattlesnake Pasta, its pasta with a little spicy kick with chicken and red & green peppers. For chicken lovers, I suggest the Roasted Chicken, its a huge portion but they have roasted this baby to perfection, comes with smashed potatoes. For seafood lovers, try the Cilantro Shrimp, its a rack of spicy seasoned shrimp over a bed of seasoned rice. My favorite is the Salmon (grilled) with Steamed Broccoli, its perfectly seasoned and has a homemade sauce that tops the salmon perfectly. What's your favorite dish?
If you're in the mood for networking, I suggest eating/drinking at the bar. If you would like to meet new people I suggest going around happy hour time and grabbing a seat at the bar at the Northwestern Hwy/Orchard Lake location. Dress casual with an edge and I'm sure you'll have a ball.
