Blackened Salmon Salad w/Apples

I've decided to eat healthy so this is my attempt at it. I love salad's & fish so incorporating them together just seemed right! I added the apples so that I can say that I had my share of fruit for the day.
The meal was delicious and very filling. Can't wait to see what I think up for tomorrow.
Are you eating healthy? What are some of your favorite dishes?

Foods

OMG! I dont know how I forgot to add this picture, this was the best pasta we had, the entire time while in Miami. Don't get me wrong, we ate very well, but I do believe this dish was the best.

I'm Full...

Needless to say, we ate/drank good every night! Even though it was a little chilly in Miami, it did not stop us from dining on Ocean Drive (The Strip) every night. Just posting these pictures made me hungry and yearn for Miami all over again.

Crave this...

Crepe Ragoon-with fresh king crab, white shrimp and sea scallops/honey ginger asian sauce

Dining/Lounge Area

The Bar

The Sushi Bar

Sorry for the absence, but I'm back. Yesterday (12/12) was my birthday and my lovely hubby took me out to dinner. I of course, wanted to share my evening with you guys.
We went to a restaurant+sushi bar+lounge called CRAVE. Its located in Dearborn at the corner of Mason St. (22075 Michigan Ave, 48124).
What I liked about this place was the decor and the cozy feel, its definitely a romantic place, the dim lighting attributed to that. The drinks were very good, we could actually taste the liquor. I order a specialty drink mostly, when I go out and that let's me know if they have a "real" bartender. He passed the test!
Now, let me rate the entire experience for you. Giving them a 5 Score, let do our subtractions.

-1. The wait staff bordered on attentive to obsessive.
(There were just a few people there so maybe that's why we were asked every 10 mins., if everything was ok).

-1. They had a sign-outside that stated "Half-Off Drinks. NOT SO

(We thought it was a "Holiday" thing, it was false advertisement. However, that's not the reason we went, but you couldn't help but see the sign. We were told it was mistakenly left out there).

-1. It was my birthday and my hubby let them know and asked if they do anything for "Birthday" people. The answer was NO.
(No cake, no candle(s), No drink, no fan-its asian inspired, NOTHING).

So, in the end I give them a 2 (that's 5 minus 3). They left us CRAVELESS!!

Would I recommend this place? Not really. The ambiance and good drinks just aren't enough to hold any one's attention. We "had" decided to have dinner there, but once we took everything into account, we decided to travel on over to The Roast. Sorry, I ran out of camera space, but were going back very soon. OMG, that place was awesome & the food was Delicious!!
Until next time...thank you all for reading my blog.
Happy Holidays!!

Once again Go Eat....

The bar area

The chefs/cooks

Alex Salad w/Grilled Chicken

Grilled Chicken Salad

Cheeseburger w/Fries

I know this is a "double" post, but I thought I'd give everyone a second look at my fave restaurant, J. Alexander's! Once again, I'd like to re-iterate that its a perfect place to meet, greet and eat. The service and food is delicious!
Please don't think that I ate all of this food myself. My co-workers and I headed-out for a wonderful lunch and conversation. We were delightfully full and pleased with our sit-down luncheon. Give J. Alexander's a try and let me know what you think.

A La Food....

My good girlfriend and I went to J Alexanders to eat and I was supposed to take pictures of both of our plates, however, greedy me forgot and had already begun to eat. I took a picture of my plate/food anyway but it was not pretty, half eaten. So, here is a perfect plate of Steak Maui and smashed potatoes.
J Alexanders is a great place to eat, socialize, and drink. I've always experienced great customer service and a delightful meal. Don't know what to order? If you like pasta, try the Rattlesnake Pasta, its pasta with a little spicy kick with chicken and red & green peppers. For chicken lovers, I suggest the Roasted Chicken, its a huge portion but they have roasted this baby to perfection, comes with smashed potatoes. For seafood lovers, try the Cilantro Shrimp, its a rack of spicy seasoned shrimp over a bed of seasoned rice. My favorite is the Salmon (grilled) with Steamed Broccoli, its perfectly seasoned and has a homemade sauce that tops the salmon perfectly. What's your favorite dish?
If you're in the mood for networking, I suggest eating/drinking at the bar. If you would like to meet new people I suggest going around happy hour time and grabbing a seat at the bar at the Northwestern Hwy/Orchard Lake location. Dress casual with an edge and I'm sure you'll have a ball.

Royal Oak Eats....

Cobb Salad-Royal Grill

If you're looking for a place to have a very fresh and delicious salad, my suggestion would be Royal Grill located in Oak Park. The service is friendly and once they notice you come often it becomes like "Cheers", everyone knows you. This is a "regular" spot for many. You'll see people coming in and saying hello and shaking hands and crackin jokes. Love the atmosphere, its light and clean and also has a big picture window-great for people watching. Royal Grill is located in the strip mall on 9 mile and Coolidge w/Murry's Discount and the Golden Bowl. Remember to order the Cobb salad!

Arizona is Beautiful....

Downtown Phenoix, AZ

Eggs on top of crabcakes & muffin w/potatoes & bacon

I had to opportunity to go to Phenoix and loved every minute!! Arizona is gorgeous, just gorgeous. The air even seemed fresh and light. I was there on business, so i didn't get a chance to take pictures but I was able to get in these. The top picture is downtown phenoix, near a small shopping district. The bottom picture is from the Sheraton Hotel (downtown), this breakfast was delicious and they had the best customer service. Can't wait to go back, but next time it will be for pleasure.

Ferndale Eats...

Bacon Cheese Burger w/potatoes

Detroit (Michigan) gets a lot of flack as far as the area, no place(s) to go, no place(s) to eat, etc., so I've decided to post different places that I stumble upon. We really have hidden treasures here! Some posts will be of my favorite places and others will be new to me.
So enjoy as I take you on a journey of Michigan.
This was the most moist and delicious burger I'd had in a long time. The toppings (lettuce, tomato) were so fresh and I could actually hear the crunch. The potatoes were perfectly cooked, not to soft and not at all hard. The service was very pleasant and parking was a breeze. Dino's Bar & Grill is located in Ferndale on Woodward just south of 9 mile. Its a small little bar that you can easily pass if you're not looking, so don't zoom by. Dino's has window seating (didn't think to take a picture of that, until we left) that is great for people watching. Just looking at this picture makes me want to do a quick drop-in for another bite.
Know of any hidden treasures in Michigan? Send me an email or comment. I'd love to visit!

Dinner

I don't know what she's eating or where she is, but I want what she's having.
