New Buys 06-28

While out purchasing household cleaning supplies today, I decided to grab a few new polishes. I usually buy Opi, China Glaze, or Essie but I want to start branching out and trying different brands.  I have never tried any of the brands I purchased today, so I'm excited and nervous all in one. I hope they lay and last perfectly! Has anyone tried any of these? If so, what is your opinion?

1. Pure Ice-Taupe Drawer
2. Rimmel-Bare Naked
3. Rimmel-Steel Grey

I have some Pure Ice polishes and glitters. I recently used Pure Ice Watermelon Ice to do a watermelon mani. For me, it's hit and miss because some of the lovely colors I purchase end up being ones to use as a topping only and won't appear on the nail as in the bottle. The nice thing is they experiment a lot with colors so there's a super wide assortment from which to choose (even if a bunch of them are failures). I love that they are called Pure Ice and are shaped like some machine made ice cubes! Hee hee.

I have Rimmel Marine Blue which is a gorgeous blue that looks good with blue jeans, etc. The brush, color and formula are great. I'm not fond of buying polishes with those sharp square shoulders on the bottle because they tend to crack in the heat (yes, even indoors). Gotta love the desert, it's 109 at the moment! However, this one was a very nice exception. They are hard to find in the stores here. I look forward to seeing your swatches. I wonder if Bare Naked is a sheer or can be worn by itself. Those two Rimmels you got look like colors that go together.

@rm-shame shame. Now I'll have to give them a try :-0.

@Desert-O wow, I hope I'm able to wear the Pure Ice polish as a stand alone. I like the hint of purple along with the grey.

The Bare Naked looks just dark enough to be a stand alone color. I wanted something in the nude family but with color. If you get what I mean? Wasn't really looking for a sheer. We'll see what happens!

I have one Pure Ice polish that I really like. Its called Iced Merlot, it wore pretty well on me but it did take three coats to become opaque. I really like it though and for the price, really cant go wrong :)

BTW I really like your nail art, you do an amazing job! :)

Thank you Darlene :-) and you're right the price of the Pure Ice polish isn't bad at all.
